Sell Your Tesla Model 3.
Get a Firm Offer at Your Door.

The Model 3 is the most common Tesla I buy. The pricing has stabilized after the 2023-2024 crash, but it still moves faster than any other car. If you are thinking about selling, the offer I give you today may not be the same next month.

What I See When I Buy a Tesla Model 3

The Model 3 is the Tesla I see more than any other. I have bought hundreds of them. The biggest lesson from the 2023-2024 price crash is that Tesla corporate controls the used market more than any other manufacturer. When they cut new car prices, every used Model 3 drops the same week. That volatility has stabilized, but it has not disappeared.

The second thing every Model 3 seller needs to know is about Full Self-Driving. You paid $8,000 to $12,000 for it. The market pays about $3,000 extra, and on many newer models it does not transfer at all. That is the single most common pricing disagreement I have with Model 3 sellers. I will show you the real numbers so there are no surprises.

Model breakdown

Selling a Specific Tesla Model 3 Model?

Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus

2019 - 2026 · $18,000 - $27,000

The most common Model 3 on the used market. 2021-2023 units sit in the $20,000 to $26,000 range. Strong demand from first-time EV buyers.

Common issues I see

  • Range anxiety is the top buyer concern (affects negotiation, not actual quality)
  • Screen yellowing on pre-2021 models
  • Thin factory paint chips easily, affects perceived condition

Tesla Model 3 Long Range (AWD)

2019 - 2026 · $22,000 - $32,000

AWD and extended range command a clear premium over Standard Range. The $2,000 to $5,000 gap above SR holds consistently at auction.

Common issues I see

  • Battery degradation on early 2019 units with very high mileage
  • Drive unit whine (rare, but expensive if it develops)
  • FSD non-transferable reduces what Long Range + FSD sellers expect

Tesla Model 3 Performance

2019 - 2026 · $25,000 - $38,000

Commands the highest resale of all Model 3 trims. The track mode, lowered suspension, and larger brakes create consistent premium demand at auction.

Common issues I see

  • Lowered suspension means more curb rash and undercarriage scraping
  • Brake wear is heavier (performance driving takes a toll)
  • Tire costs are higher (staggered setup on some years)
What affects your offer

Does Anything on My Tesla Model 3 Lower the Offer?

FSD Non-Transferable

Impact: $3,000 max recovery on an $8,000 to $12,000 purchase. Many newer models lose it entirely on resale. Recovery rate is $0.30 to $0.60 per dollar spent.

This is the number one pricing disagreement I have with Model 3 sellers. I understand you paid a lot for FSD. The market does not value it the way Tesla charges for it. I will show you the real auction data.

Battery Degradation

Impact: Over 94% capacity at 3 years. About 12% loss at 200,000 miles. Matters most above 100,000 to 150,000 miles or after 5-7 years with more than 10-12% loss.

I check battery health during every Model 3 inspection. At 80,000 miles, most batteries are at 92-95%. That is strong. Above 150,000 miles, I look more carefully, but even then the data is usually better than sellers fear.

Screen Yellowing (Pre-2021)

Impact: Yellow band along the top edge of the screen. Cosmetic issue, but it signals age to buyers and can cost $500 to $1,000 in perceived value.

Screen yellowing is common on early Model 3s. Tesla did a warranty repair program for some. If yours has it, I still buy the car. It is a cosmetic line item, not a structural problem.

Paint Quality

Impact: Tesla's factory paint is thin. Chips, swirls, and clear coat issues are common and make the car look older than it is.

I see paint issues on almost every Model 3 I inspect. Auction buyers expect it at this point. A car with good paint stands out. A car with typical Tesla paint gets priced accordingly.

Tesla Corporate Price Cuts

Impact: When Tesla drops new Model 3 prices, every used Model 3 drops with it. The 2023-2024 crash saw 25% year-over-year declines.

Prices have stabilized since early 2025, up 2.6% from September to January. But the risk is not gone. My offer is based on today's data. Waiting a month could cost you if Tesla makes another move.

Simple process

Here is how it works.

1

Call Joe.

Tell me about your Tesla Model 3. I'll let you know where the offer should land, and we'll set up a time.

2

I come to your house.

I pull into your driveway, scan the VIN on your Tesla Model 3, run it through a professional valuation tool right there, and show you a firm, guaranteed offer on the screen. No meetup spots, no dealership visit.

3

Accept the offer, get a check.

If the number works, I write you a check before I leave. I handle all the paperwork. If it doesn't work, no pressure.

The real tradeoff

Why Sell Your Tesla Model 3 to a Dealer Instead of Privately?

The Model 3 is the most time-sensitive car I buy. Tesla corporate pricing decisions, software updates, and new model announcements can move your car's value $2,000 to $3,000 in a single month. The 2023-2024 crash taught every Model 3 owner that waiting is not free. Prices have stabilized, but the volatility has not disappeared.

If you have a Model 3 and you have been thinking about selling, get a real number today. Not an online estimate that changes at pickup. Call me, I will come to your door, check the battery health, inspect the car, and give you a firm offer in 20 minutes. You will have a check before lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions About Selling Your Tesla Model 3

Does FSD add value to my Model 3?+
About $3,000 max, regardless of what you paid. Recovery rate is $0.30 to $0.60 per dollar. On many newer models, FSD does not transfer to the next owner at all. I will show you exactly how it factors into your offer.
How does battery health affect my offer?+
Below 100,000 miles, most Model 3 batteries are at 92-95% capacity. That is strong and rarely impacts the offer. Above 100,000 to 150,000 miles, I check the actual health data. About 12% loss at 200,000 miles is typical.
What happened to Model 3 prices in 2023-2024?+
Tesla cut new car prices aggressively, and every used Model 3 dropped with it. Year-over-year declines of 25% were common. Prices stabilized in 2025 and are up 2.6% from September to January 2026.
Is the Performance worth more?+
Yes, consistently. The Performance trim commands the highest resale of all Model 3 variants. Track mode, lowered suspension, and bigger brakes create genuine premium demand at auction.
What if my range has degraded?+
Some range loss is normal. I check the actual battery health data, not the estimated range display. If your battery is at 88% at 120,000 miles, that is still a strong car. I price off real data, not the range anxiety number.
Does Tesla's price on new cars affect my used value?+
Directly and immediately. When Tesla drops the new Model 3 price, every used unit on the market adjusts within days. That is why my offer reflects today's data. A month from now could be different.
How fast should I sell?+
With a Model 3, sooner is almost always better. The market has stabilized, but Tesla can announce a price cut or new model at any time. My offer today is firm. I cannot guarantee the same number next month.
